Store the piece separately, avoid impact and harsh chemicals, and remove it before sport, swimming or heavy work. Professional inspection and cleaning are recommended periodically.

Sapphire
Clean with warm water and mild soap, then dry with a soft cloth. Until treatment status is confirmed, avoid steam or ultrasonic cleaning and harsh chemicals. Mohs hardness describes resistance to scratching; it does not make any gemstone immune to a sharp impact.
Diamond
Avoid sharp impacts, especially around exposed edges. Clean with a lint-free cloth and mild household detergent. Steam or ultrasonic cleaning is best left to a professional who can first check that the stone and setting are secure.

Crafted in Detail

Materials, stones and craftsmanship explained clearly by the people who create the piece.

Stone

Sapphire

Sapphire is corundum in colors other than red, with blue being its best-known variety. At 9 on the Mohs scale, sapphire is highly resistant to scratching and well suited to jewelry worn regularly.
Learn more

Sapphire belongs to the corundum mineral family, a crystalline aluminium oxide. Red corundum is known as ruby, while sapphire appears across a broad palette of other colours. Ranking 9 on the Mohs scale and combining excellent toughness with no cleavage, sapphire is particularly well suited to jewellery designed to be worn often.

Metal

Yellow Gold

Yellow gold combines pure gold with alloy metals to achieve the strength needed for jewelry while preserving gold's naturally warm color. The karat indicates the proportion of pure gold in the alloy.

Setting

Prong Setting

A prong setting holds the stone with small metal claws positioned around its edge. It leaves much of the stone visible and open to light, while the prongs themselves should be checked periodically for wear or movement.

Setting

Side Stones

A side-stone design places additional stones beside the center stone to add brilliance, color or visual balance while keeping the center stone as the main focal point.

Cut & shape

Emerald cut

The emerald cut is a rectangular step cut with cropped corners and broad, parallel facets. Rather than a glittering brilliant pattern, it produces clean flashes of light and emphasizes clarity and transparency.
